[. . . ] Please connect the CPU fan CPU Fan Connector (4-pin CPU_FAN1) (see p. 10 No. 3) FAN_SPEED_CONTROL CPU_FAN_SPEED +12V GND 4 3 2 1 cable to this connector and match the black wire to the ground pin. Though this motherboard provides 4-Pin CPU fan (Quiet Fan) support, the 3-Pin CPU fan still can work successfully even without the fan speed control function. If you plan to connect the 3-Pin CPU fan to the CPU fan connector on this motherboard, please connect it to Pin 1-3. Pin 1-3 Connected 3-Pin Fan Installation ATX Power Connector (20-pin ATXPWR1) (see p. 10 No. 4) Please connect an ATX power supply to this connector. ATX 12V Power Connector (4-pin ATX12V1) (see p. 10 No. 2) Please note that it is necessary to connect a power supply with ATX 12V plug to this connector. It is not necessary to use this connector, but please connect it with a hard disk power connecor when two graphics cards are plugged to this motherboard at the same time. SLI/XFIRE Power Connector (4-pin SLI/XFIRE_POWER1) (see p. 10 No. 34) SLI/XFIRE_POWER1 28 Game Port Header (15-pin GAME1) (see p. 10 No. 26) 1 +5V JBB1 JBX MIDI_OUT JBY JBB2 MIDI_IN Connect a Game cable to this header if the Game port bracket is installed. +5V JAB2 JAY GND GND JAX JAB1 +5V HDMI_SPDIF Header (3-pin HDMI_SPDIF1) (see p. 10 No. 29) 1 GND SPDIFOUT +5V HDMI_SPDIF header, providing SPDIF audio output to HDMI VGA card, allows the system to connect HDMI Digital TV/ projector/LCD devices. Please connect the HDMI_SPDIF connector of HDMI VGA card to this header. Please connect the black end (A) of HDMI_SPDIF cable to the HDMI_SPDIF header on the motherboard. Then connect the white end (B or C) of HDMI_SPDIF cable to the HDMI_SPDIF connector of HDMI VGA card. white end (3-pin) SPDIFOUT GND blue black HDMI_SPDIF Cable (Optional) C B A A. white end (2-pin) SPDIFOUT GND blue black USB Bracket This USB bracket can support 2 additional USB 2. 0 ports besides the I/O panel. Please connect the blue connector on the cable of this USB bracket to the USB 2. 0 header (USB2_3, USB4_5, USB6_7 or USB8_9) and fasten the USB bracket to the chassis with screws. 29 2. 10 HDMI_SPDIF Header Connection Guide HDMI (High-Definition Multi-media Interface) is an all-digital audio/video specification, which provides an interface between any compatible digital audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, A/V receiver and a compatible digital audio or video monitor, such as a digital television (DTV). A complete HDMI system requires a HDMI VGA card and a HDMI ready motherboard with a HDMI_SPDIF header. This motherboard is equipped with a HDMI_SPDIF header, which provides SPDIF audio output to HDMI VGA card, allows the system to connect HDMI Digital TV/projector/ LCD devices. To use HDMI function on this motherboard, please carefully follow the below steps. Install the HDMI VGA card to the PCI Express Graphics slot on this motherboard. For the proper installation of HDMI VGA card, please refer to the installation guide on page 17 and page 18. Connect the black end (A) of HDMI_SPDIF cable to the HDMI_SPDIF header (HDMI_SPDIF1, yellow, see page 10, No. 29) on the motherboard. Make sure to correctly connect the HDMI_SPDIF cable to the motherboard and the HDMI VGA card according to the same pin definition. [. . . ] Parallel Port Address Use this item to set the address for the onboard parallel port or disable it. Parallel Port Mode Use this item to set the operation mode of the parallel port. If this option is set to [ECP+EPP], it will show the EPP version in the following item, "EPP Version".
