[. . . ] The track titles in the MP3 data (in the ID3-Tag) determine the alphabetical order of the playback list and the title displayed on the system. To obtain greater control over how tracks are sorted, you can save the tracks in directories with names beginning "BMW" and then a number from 1 to 9 (e. g "BMW1. . . "). These directories are only recognised if they are in the root directory of the device and will be displayed by the audio system as playlists. Tracks in these directories are played back in the sequence required by the mass data storage device. The USB stick must support the Mass Storage Format, can have only one partition and must be either FAT 16 or FAT 32 formatted. An MP3 player connected to the audio system via the USB port must also support the Mass Storage Format. 5 35 5 36 External media players they are played. The playback device cannot be controlled by the system if it is only connected via the jack. Press the MODE button to select the playback mode. z Media storage device and Apple iPod Selecting playback mode Select USB or iPod as a playback source. The selected playback mode is shown in field 1. ALL: The tracks are played in a sequence of tracks described in the next step. PL9: The playlist you select is played in a sequence of tracks described in the next step. this information are summarised as "Tracks with unknown artist" or "Tracks with unknown album".
