[. . . ] During use the round barbecue will become very hot and therefore may not be moved, otherwise it could tip over. Do not operate the round barbecue in indoor rooms or roofed-over areas. If the delivery is not complete or is damaged due to defective packaging or through transportation contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service). [. . . ] During use, place the grill on a secure, level and firm surface, otherwise it could tip over. Place one or two solid firelighters on the existing layer of charcoal and ignite the solid firelighters with a match or lighter. After about 20 minutes the charcoal will display a white coating of ash. Spread the charcoal evenly in the firebowl with a suitable metal implement. The food item is cooked directly over the heat source (coal), so it is the usual grilling. With this method the heat radiation onto the food item is at its strongest and keeps the cooking time low. You can open the hood with direct grilling, then you can see your food being cooked. With the hood closed and the ventilation plates in the hood and firebowl open, the cooking time can be further shortened. When direct cooking there is always the possibility that fat or marinade could fall into the heat source from the food item and burn there. In the cases of highly fatty or marinated food items, it is recommended that you use a drip tray made of aluminum or an enameled steel tray. The difference is that your food item is grilled and therefore receives a better flavour and appearance than in the oven. Use the indirect cooking method for foods which need longer than 25 minutes to grill, or for food items which are too sensitive for direct cooking, otherwise they would dry out or sear, such as roasts, ribs, whole chicken or fish fillets. To prepare the grill for indirect cooking, the charcoal divider needs to be placed on the charcoal grill (see Fig. The coal divider may not be fitted parallel to the handles, rather, it must be turned through 90° when fitting it. With the fitting of the coal divider the firebowl is divided into three zones. Zones 1 and 3 are the spaces between the charcoal divider and side walls of the firebowl. Here you can if necessary place a drip tray to collect the juices and drippings that can accumulate. On the one hand this facilitates the cleaning of the grill, on the other, the meat juices can be used for a sauce/gravy.
