[. . . ] Keep ventilation openings of the machine and foot control free from accumulation of lint, dust and fibers. Switch off the machine when making any adjustment in the needle area, such as threading needle, changing needle position, threading looper, changing presser foot, etc. [. . . ] It is very important to refer to the threading chart for proper threading of the stitch. incorrect threading or thread order may lead to skipped stitches and/or thread breakage. To remove the thread chain, cut threads at looper and needle eyes and hand pull threads to the rear. Program display Program selection dial Program number Differential feed ratio Stitch length in mm Needle position Cutting width dial position Position of upper knife 2-thread converter - up/down Position of needle plate setting knob Stitch type Select the program number corresponding to the stitch type you wish to sew. Refer to the stitch diagrams indicated on the machine and inside the front cover. Program selection dial Turn the program selection dial until the desired stitch program number is shown in the program display. What the Symbols Represent C: Program number D: Differential feed E: Stitch length F: Needle position G: Cutting width H: Upper knife position I: 2-thread converter J: Needle plate setting knob NOTE: means the device shall be set at UP position. Program number The thread tension dials will be automatically set to "N" when selecting the program. The tensions are automatically adjusted to the proper values for the selected program. The instructions for machine set-up are also displayed using easy to read symbols. NOTE: It is very important to select the correct program number corresponding to the desired stitch. This ensures that all machine parts are correctly positioned and makes threading easier. Differential feed (DF) Turn the DF dial to select the differential ratio shown on the display panel by setting the number to the setting mark. Needle position The needles to be used for a specific stitch are indicated by dot(s) above the needle position marks. [. . . ] Push the upper knife release knob to the right and turn it towards you. NOTE: Do not allow the fabric edge to extend beyond the right side of the needle plate when sewing with the upper knife disengaged. [. . . ]
