There are four different positions for this lever: N = Neutral (no drive) S = Slow F = Fast R = Reverse The lever can be moved steplessly between S and F to ensure the required speed. If the lever is moved backwards the drive will be disconnected and the rotation of the blades slowed down by the action of the brake shoes on the pulley.
