Shooting Time-lapse Movies (Time-lapse Movie)
With the time-lapse movies, the frame rate (number of pictures taken for one second) is slowed down. When you play back these pictures, the subject appears to move much more quickly. This effect may be useful for taking blooming flowers, for example.

[Off (×1)] is the typical movie setting (15 frames/second). As you select [×2], [×5]. . . , the number of pictures taken for a second decreases from 1/2, 1/5. . . The images of movie pictures are always played back at the rate of 15 frames per second. This means those taken at ×2 appear to be played back twice faster and those at ×5 five times faster than ×1.

Adjusting the Viewfinder
If the indicators in the viewfinder are hard to see, you can adjust the diopter in the range of -3m-1+1m-1 (per meter).

Aim the camera towards the light and move the diopter adjustment lever to the left or right while looking through the viewfinder. Adjust the focus frame in the middle of the viewfinder to the optimum position.

Select [ ] (manual) on the white balance screen. Point your camera at a blank sheet of paper so that it fills the screen.

Press the Display button. MENU Exit OK Ok Adjustment will start and [Adjusting] will appear on the LCD monitor. When adjustment has been completed, [Complete] will appear on the LCD monitor and the screen will return to the menu screen. The camera is ready to take the picture.

If the Display button is again pressed while [Adjusting] is displayed on the LCD monitor, the white balance adjustment will be repeated, starting from the beginning. Press the Playback/OK button to cancel adjustment while in progress.

Changing the AF Area (Focusing Area)
You can change the range of the autofocus area.
