Warning -- Check if the voltage indicated on the bottom of the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the appliance. -- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. -- To avoid the risk of fire, frequently remove crumbs from the crumb tray. [. . . ] This burns off any dust that may have accumulated on the heating elements and  prevents unpleasant smells when toasting bread. Using the appliance 1 Put the appliance on a stable and flat surface, away from curtains and other combustible materials. 2 To adjust the length of the cord,  wind part of it round the brackets in the base of the appliance (Fig. 1 Put one or two slices (HD2627) or one to four slices (HD2647) of bread in the toaster (Fig. Tip: For the best toasting results, always put the slices in the centre of the slots. Caution: Do not use a knife or another sharp metal tool to remove bread from the toaster and do not touch the metal internal parts of the toaster. Toasting frozen bread 1 Put one or two slices (HD2627) or one to four slices (HD2647) of frozen bread in the toaster. 2 Select the desired browning setting and push down the toasting lever (see section ‘Toasting bread’). Reheating toasted bread The toaster has a preprogrammed reheat function that reheats your toast without making it browner. Note:Toasting frozen bread takes longer than toasting defrosted bread. 2 Place the warming rack over the toasting slots of the toaster (Fig. Never put the items to be heated up directly on top of the toaster without having unfolded the warming rack to avoid damaging the toaster.
