Wait at least two hours without moving the appliance before switching on. This will give the refrigerant circuit time to settle and operate efficiently. [. . . ] Dairy products can be stored in this compartment longer and drinks are chilled more rapidly; It can be used to store dairy products, cold meats and meat. • If necessary, remove the extra-cold compartment, taking all the food out first. Freezer control panel • To adjust the temperature in the Freezer compartment, select the desired freezing level using the button on the control panel. 1 2 3 4 1. 4. Operation LED Door open alarm Alarm mute button Fast Freezing Minimum level: to be used when small amounts of food are stored in the Freezer and the door is seldom opened. Maximum level: to be used when large amounts of food are stored in the Freezer and the door is opened frequently. This function switches off automatically after 18 hours. ELECTRONIC CONTROL This appliance is provided with an exclusive electronic control system. • In the event of a malfunction, the control system will activate an acoustic alarm and the LEDs on the control panel will blink. • This system also controls the internal temperature of the appliance. • To mute the acoustic alarm press the “Alarm” button. • This electronic control system also has an auto check function. An acoustic alarm will immediately signal any malfunction in your appliance. This allows you to contact the After-sales Service to solve the problem rapidly. • When the LEDs blink, the appliance should not to used for a prolonged period of time. Unplug the appliance from the mains socket until the problem is solved by the After-sales Service. 19 3gb33004. fm Page 20 Monday, October 14, 2002 9:51 AM Important: • After switching on, the freezer compartment takes approximately 3 hours to reach a suitable temperature for frozen food storage. How to freeze fresh food You can use the freezer compartment to freeze food. The amount of fresh food that can be frozen in 24 hours, at an ambient temperature of + 25°C, is indicated on the data plate. Wrap and seal the food in aluminium foil, cling film, air and water-tight plastic bags, polythene containers with lids, freezer containers. 3. Place food in the upper part of the freezer, leaving enough space for air to circulate around packs. 4. For more efficient freezing, use the fast freeze function for the next 24 hours. Note: • In the event of a power failure, the freezer compartment maintains the correct storage temperature for about 9/10 hours.
