PAGE 34 19 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE Your new appliance is a combined ventilated, no frost fridge-freezer exclusively for domestic use. The great advantage of this appliance is that the refrigerator and freezer compartments are ventilated, therefore there is no ice or frost formation on the walls, thanks to the process described below. The cold is produced by an evaporator and distributed to the single compartments by means of a fan. The air, after circulating in the compartments, is absorbed again by the evaporator, which also retains any humidity in the air. [. . . ] • The edges of the shelves prevent split liquids from going to other compartments. Changing the position of shelves: Your refrigerator allows you to change the position of shelves according to your needs. • Keep the lock pressed down ad shown in the picture detail, and pull the shelf frontward until it is released. • Remove the rails as in the picture and place them where you wish. • To place the rails observe the inscrition “Up” written on the rail. The maximum quantity of food which can be frozen in a 24 hour period, at an ambient temperature of 25°C, is stated on the rating plate, inside the refrigerator compartment. FREEZER CONTROL PANEL • To adjust the temperature in the freezer compartment, select the desired freezing level using the button on the control panel. Alarm mute button Fast freezing Minimum level: to be used when small amounts of food are stored in the freezer and the door is seldom opened. Medium level: to be used in normal conditions Maximum level: to be used when large amounts of food are stored in the freezer and the door is opened frequently. Fast freezing: select the fast freeze function for colder temperatures. This function switches off automatically after 18 hours Electronic control This appliance is provided with an exclusive electronic control system. • In the event of a malfunction, the control system will activate an acoustic alarm. • This system also controls the internal temperature of the appliance. • To mute the acoustic alarm press the “Alarm” button. • This electronic control system also has an auto check function. An acoustic alarm will immediately signal any malfunction in your appliance. An acoustic alarm will immediately signal any malfunction in your appliance. This allows you to contact the After-Sales Service to solve the problem. • When the acoustic alarm is activated, the appliance should not to used for a prolonged period of time. Contact the After-sales Service as soon as possible. 27 ICE CUBES Your appliance has an ice maker (depending on the model) for making ice cubes quickly and easily. Important: • Make sure there is no ice in the trays before refilling the feeder. • Ice tray feeder and ice bin can be removed and food can be stored in their place. 1 2 3 4 Note: • In the event of a power failure, the freezer compartment maintains the correct storage temperature for about 13/14 hours. • Do not open the freezer compartment door during a power failure. 28 GUIDE TO STORAGE AND THAWING OF FOOD PREPARING FRESH FOOD FOR FREEZING It is important to wrap food so that no water, moisture, or vapour may penetrate; this avoids the transfer of odours and flavours throughout the refrigerator and allows better storage of frozen food. Use plastic containers with tight fitting lids, aluminium trays, aluminium foil, cling film and waterproof plastic wrappings. If there is moisture build-up • Make sure that the food is properly packaged. Dry any dampness on food containers before placing them in the refrigerator. [. . . ]
